Armoured AOC

We are pleased to introduce our new ranges of Active Optical armoured DisplayPort and HDMI cables to complement our existing range of Active Optical Cables.

An AOC has the copper conductors removed and replaces them with fibre optical cores and a small transmitter and a receiver in the connectors. Copper cores still remain to carry power along the cable. Due to the ability to keep cables thin, armoured cables are only 5.8mm in diameter.

Kevlar armour is used to protect the fibre cores and between the TPE jacket and stainless steel armour.

Thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) jackets are a rubber type jacket that is very flexible. TPEs also have outstanding thermal properties and material stability when exposed to a broad range of temperatures, our cables have operating temperatures of -20 to +60 degrees C.

Our armoured cables can be used for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Both HDMI and DisplayPort cables feature 8k@60Hz capability.

While the HDMI version supports 8k@60Hz and 48Gbps bandwidth, HDMI Org releases specifications for certified HDMI 2.1 cables and AOC does not fall into that category so they cannot be called HDMI 2.1 but do support all the features.

With DisplayPort being managed by VESA and royalty free technology, DisplayPort can be classed as v1.4 and HBR 3. This cable supports 8k@60Hz with a bandwidth of 32.4Gbps.
