Cat5e Network Cables
Today I’m going take a look at our 10/100 network cables, we have a huge range of network cables and one of our best selling ranges of products. In case you don’t already know, we sell various types from economy CCA 10/100 to high quality Cat5e.
When talking about networking cables we refer to abbreviations such as CCA, UTP, AWG & POE..
CCA – Copper Clad Aluminium can also be referred to as Copper Coated Aluminium.
UTP – Unshielded Twisted Pairs, this means the 4 pairs are twisted and have no shielding.
AWG – American Wire Gauge, while this is American it is used worldwide and a gauge of the thickness of the cores.
POE – Power Over Ethernet, in some applications power can be sent down the network cable.
Our economy range of networking cables are built to the same spec as Cat5e cables using CCA. Due to this they cannot be classified as Cat5e but are more than capable with the exception of POE use. It is claimed that CCA can cause connection problems over time and with the use of POE. Due to this they are not permitted to be called Cat5e as Cat5e is a standard that states copper has to be used. Our economy range of 10/100 networking cables is as follows..
99TRT-6xx – 10/100 UTP networking cables in various colours and lengths
