NEW USB C SSD Enclosure

The USB C to M2 SSD Enclosure allows you to connect an M.2 NVMe SSD to your computer via the USB C port. The enclosure is compact making it very portable.
Please note that while this is an M.2 enclosure, it only supports an NVMe SSD. The NVMe technology allows faster speeds over the alternative NGFF which is SATA based.
Easy to open, just press down on the indicator and pull back to remove the cover.
For best installation of SSD, insert it at an angle and then press down until it clips in place.

Why Use M.2 NVMe?
As you are aware Hard Disk Drives have come a long way from IDE to SATA 3 SSD and even the mSATA. IDE and SATA HDD used to have a spinning disc that was written to and while improvements were made over time, they were slow. Then came along the Solid State Drive (SSD) which acts like memory sticks and therefore faster. These all used cables connected to the motherboard.
Along came mSATA (mini SATA) which was connected directly to the motherboard reducing the need for a bulky HDD or SSD but still only the same speed as a SATA. mSATA was then replaced by the smaller M.2 connector which has the ability to use either NGFF SATA SSD or NVMe SSD.
NGFF SATA SSD – While this uses the M.2 slot, it is still only the same speed as SATA (6gbps).
NVMe SSD – The introduction of the NVMe SSD is changing the SSD industry in that they are smaller and much faster than SATA as they use the PCIe bus.
Speeds
| SATA III Hard Drive | SATA III SSD | NVMe SSD |
| 100 MB/s Read | 530 MB/s Read | 3,500 MB/s Read |
| 100 MB/s Write | 500 MB/s Write | 3,000 MB/s Write |
Due to the massive increase in speed and small size, computers are able to be built smaller and very fast. Modern computers are now being fitted with NVMe drives for the operating system. The speed of the NVMe drive makes the OS and application load instantly.
As you can see, NVMe drives coupled together with a fast PC are being used by the computer gaming industry and video editing industry purely for speed.
Our USBC enclosure with an NVMe SSD will allow a speed of up to 10Gbps (or 1250MB/s).
